The AW Base-Box™ is designed to give the enthusiast all the components for professional basing without having the expense of buying large quantities of basing materials they will never use and may not normally be able to afford. It is therefore ideal for those starting out with more "professional" basing and those new to the hobby.
Our components are carefully picked from the best suppliers and each pack comes with our own blends of scatter materials so that you can match your figure's bases to your dioramas, terrain and scenery pieces. Excellent for basing figures from Games Workshop, Warhammer, Warhammer 40k, Mordheim, Reaper, Confrontation Foundry and other manufacturers.
For 2007 we have amalgamated the seasonal packs into a combined super-size Base-Box™ that contains 16 products including our own leaf-litter and new professional snow powder.
The Base-Box™ and "Extras" range are designed for use for figure-basing only and the "Extras" range serves as an excellent way to test out materials that you may not otherwise have looked at. They are not intended for use as terrain or scenery supplies.

Scenic Extras:
Fine leaves are very small flakes of coloured synthetic material which can be dusted on over trails of glue to make quick but effective vines, they are also ideal for floating water pads such as lilies and can make superb bushes and trees when combined with seafoam tree formers.
Finally they can add a bit of extra texture and leaf effects when basing figures.

Flock (Static Grass)
A range of flocks of varying colours and mixes. Flock is also known as "Hairy grass" and "Static Grass" and is comprised of lengths of very fine synthetic fibres which can be electrostatically charged before application onto a pre-glued surface. The result is a grass-like texture.

Our own mix of various colours to provide a nice pale wintry grass.
Long Grass / Field Grass
Different name - same thing. Long grass or "field grass" are long tufts of fine synthetic material that can be cut into the desired height and clumped to represent tall grasses and very fine reeds.
These are 7g packs which may not sound a lot but it will create a LOT of long grass. We don't recommend this product for reeds or rushes though - it is not strong enough or thick enough to support rush-heads and its very fine structure is far more suited to representation of grasses.
SOme other manufacturers produce cheaper Long Grass but we find the colour intensity, consistency and amount of actual fibres to be superior with this brand. As with everything else at AW we sell what we use ourselves.
Basing Tools
 Deluxe Scatter Grip:
150ml bottle of the excellent "Scatter Grip". This is a viscous liquid glue that you can apply with a brush and remains EXTREMELY tacky AND flexible after setting. It is ideal for foliage scatters, surface scatters and making hedgerows.
This glue is about as tacky as it gets and the ability to apply it easily with a paint brush allows for the ultimate in control. Simply use a smaller brush for smaller areas and you will find that all those previously "Hard to get at" areas are a problem of the past.
PinPoint Syringe Kit
Pack of 2 syringes and 3 sizes of stainless steel tips. Highly recommended for accurate gluing, keeping work surfaces clean and so forth. This is another "super accurate" application tool that once you start using them you will wonder how you ever did without them. Extra-Fine application of Tacky-Glue is both simple and mess-free with these syringes and it allows you to get glue exactly where you need even into the tiniest spaces.
You can store the syringe in water to keep the glue from solidifying (Fill a small tub with water and store the syringe with needle attached facing downwards) and blocking the needle. Most water-based glues such as PVA, Tacky Glue and wood glues will keep for days in this manner, however we recommend that you do NOT keep glues in this fashion when using the smallest syringes - if they do dry out then you will have a lot of difficulty cleaning them out. Storage for a few hours is not normally a problem and using the wider bore needles we have kept glue in them for weeks without an issue.
