Ordering Information
You can place an order for standard stock items directly via our SECURE shopping cart (When you go to "Checkout" you are transferred to a https:// address on a secure server).
Postage is calculated automatically on stock items such as Kits and Scenic Supplies before you complete check out.
Payment can be made with many Credit and Debit cards via Paypal or NoChex: Including: Mastercard, Visa, Switch, Solo, Visa Debit (Delta), Visa Electron, Maestro and American Express (Paypal only).
We do not accept cheques, postal orders, money tranfers and similar.
If you have special requirements for your order then please include them in the "Additional Information" area during checkout.
Should you wish to utilise a different postage service than those included on our shopping cart then please email us on
sales@barrule.com and we will see what we can do.
Bespoke buildings require special packaging and delivery and P&P costs will be worked out on an individual basis with the customer before construction begins. Some custom buildings are very large and can be heavy requiring courier-only delivery.

Costs
Postage Costs listed on our Shopping Cart system (Roman-Cart) include packaging costs and handling.
Conditions of postage are the same as per Royal Mail and their terms/conditions and prices can be found here.
The standard compensation maximum is £34.00 on most RM Tariffs. Optional insurance is available at cost but only on specific shipping methods.
When is a parcel classed as missing?
Royal Mail now classify a parcel as being missing when it is a minimum of 15 working days later than the due date. The "due date" is typically regarded as between 3 days and a working week depending on the class of service - thus usually giving a total of 20 working days, or four weeks, from dispatch.
We cannot make a claim for a missing parcel until that time has passed - Royal Mail simply ignore any claims made before that time. As such if your parcel is late then please contact us to let us know once the appropriate time period has passed. We will then make a claim for you (which can take up to 6 months to handle by Royal Mail) but rather than have you wait for that long we will send you out a replacement parcel to the value that it was insured for.
Please remember that unless you purchase additional insurance then the maximum value that Royal Mail insure a package to is is £34.00 and that is the maximum that you can be refunded.
The only thing required from you, the customer, is to provide us with a written, signed, statement that the package has not arrived and including the value of the package, your name, address and the date dispatched by us along with the current date (must be a minimum of 20 working days after the dispatch date).
(Please bear in mind that the notice is legally binding and that if you claim for a missing parcel that has ben delivered you may be prosecuted for 'Obtaining Goods by Deception')
If your package is late you may be able to claim compensation yourself directly from Royal Mail. This is usually in the form of 12 First Class stamps or a cheque for £5 or £10 depending on the severity of the delay. You must make any application for delay compensation yourself, although we are happy to provide you with a copy of the dispatch notice that you will require as proof of posting.

UK only. Standard compensation £34.00 with PoP. No weight limit. ~Next day service.
This service is ideal for low cost lightweight items.
2nd Class Post
UK Only. Standard compensation £34.00 with PoP. Weight Limit 750g.
~3 day service.
Great for non-urgent lightweight and low cost items.
"Recorded Signed For"
68pence extra on top of the 1st Class or 2nd Class postage. UK ONLY
"Royal Mail deliver most First Class Recorded items by the next working day, and within three working days if it's Second Class. Recorded items are covered for up to £28 compensation, in the unlikely event of loss or damage "
Proof of Postage*:
Proof of us posting your item. (not needed if using any "signed for" service).
*Required for compensation claims to maximum value of £34.00
We retain proof of postage for every order at no cost to the customer.
Special Delivery
UK Only - Please contact us directly and we will provide a quote for special delivery packages. Insurance is available up to £2500.00 for Special Delivery packages.
Standard Parcels.
UK Only. Compensation £34.00. Max Weight 20kg. ~7day service.
Standard Parcels is the best standard service for UK customers with items of value over £28.00 or of weights over about 1kg.

International Postal Options
Airmail
Standard Airmail has a maximum insurance claim value of £34.00. If you require higher insurance then you will need to use "Airsure" or "International Signed For" services. (See below)
Royal Mail insurance only covers in event of package being lost or damaged within the UK, stupid but sadly true.
Airsure
28 destinations only - cart will automatically show Airsure as an option if available to your country.
This is one of the international postage methods that will insure you for loss/damage outside of the UK.
Please Note: If extra insurance payment over the £2.00 charge is required, or if your package can not be insured for any reason, we will contact you by email.
International Signed For
Proof of Postage - requires signature on delivery. Can be Insured.
The basic price for ISF is £3.50 on top of the normal charges charges for Airmail only (Max 2kg) or Surface Mail (Max 5kg). Please Note: If extra insurance payment over the £2.00 charge is required, or if your package can not be insured for any reason, we will contact you by email.
International Surface Mail
Times for Surface Mail are two weeks to Western Europe, four weeks to Eastern Europe, and twelve weeks to the rest of the world.
Surcharges
Please note that we do not charge extra for using Paypal or NoChex.
Special Notice about Insurance:
Royal Mail usually only cover packages for loss or damage within the United Kingdom - that includes services which are international. So, yes, this means that even if you have a Royal Mail insured package which is lost or damaged anywhere outside of the UK then they will NOT pay out on insurance. The only exception to this is Airsure and "International Signed For".
Sadly we can not offer refunds or replacement items in the case of loss or damage unless that loss/damage can be shown to have occurred within the UK. As such if you are ordering from abroad then unless you can take out insurance via the Airsure or "International Signed For" service otherwise your package will NOT be insured once it leaves the UK.

We try our utmost to ensure that our postal charges are both reasonable and accurate. However as with any automated systems things can go wrong.
